I've "heard" good things about old Gibson amps.. Also old Ampeg Gemini's. Can't remember the last time I used one of my valve amps in anger over here' in the UK. But fingers crossed summer is coming and s**t will get loud !!

Andy, I have known and loved a few Gibson amps, the best being two (yes, we had two!) "Les Paul" amps and the mighty GA79RVT. The 79 had panned stereo trem (so it pulsed form left to right speakers). Amazing recording amp, hard to use live.

I would avoid an all original GA35RVT as pictured unless you only ever play clean. Kinda lifeless clean at that not Fendery

My next door neighbor used to keep my awake at night as a kid playing his Gretsch thru this GA35RVT on his back porch. Always had the 'verb on 8, and the only tune he knew well was "Secret Agent Man" . Sounded perfect. My dad bought it, and it floated around my basement when the Passiac River flooded one year. I gutted the electronics and rebuilt it as 5E3.
